
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Lakeview Memorial Park on Hwy. 29 N. in Greensboro.
Born in Greensboro, on January 19, 1928, to the late Jesse Moore and Flora Shaw Moore, Ratanza was a member of State Street Church of God. She retired from Borum & Associates as an Engineering Technician. Ratanza’s devotion to The Lord and her family was the center of her life. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt and friend who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, Robet Lee Yates, Jr.; a daughter, Sherry Yates Downs; and her four brothers, Harry, Floyd, Adrian, and Raymond.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Robert Lee Yates, III, (Lynn); daughter, Ellen Yates; son-in-law, Jerry Downs; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.
