

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Sunday, January 5, 2014, at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel, with Rev. Marvin Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.
Born September 27, 1933, in Guilford County, to the late James and Lola Helms, Rebecca was of the Christian faith. For the past twelve years, she lived in Douglasville, GA with her daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Ken Nagel , where she enjoyed activities and trips with the Senior Center. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family. She loved Elvis, the Atlanta Braves, embroidering, and was a collector of many things, such as Coca-Cola memorabilia, lighthouses, centennial coins, and other various antiques. Rebecca was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. She will be remembered for her humor and laughter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Levy T. Cruthis and Clarence E. Beasley; two grandchildren, Tamera Welch and Jammie Welch; her five siblings, Myrtle Helms, Leroy Helms, Louise H. Simpson, Lewis High, and William Helms.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Sylvia Avondet of Greensboro and her children, Billy, Eric, and Matthew; Randall Cruthis of Randleman and his daughter, Erin Pierson; Sheila Welch McLemore of Greensboro and her son, Jason; Pamela Holyfield and husband Larry of Emerald Isle, and her daughter, Tonya Troutman; and Laurie Beasley-Nagel and her husband Ken of Georgia; great-grandchildren, Tripp, Hannah, Molly, Rebecca, and Alec; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends from noon until 1:30 pm Sunday afternoon, prior to the service, at the funeral home, January 5, 2014.
