

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 15, 2011 at Westminster Presbyterian Church by Rev. Mark Brainerd. Interment will follow at Westminster Gardens.
Becky was born March 25, 1935 in Greensboro, the daughter of Levi A. Walker, Jr. and Annie Latta Walker.
Becky was employed at Jefferson Standard for many years as executive secretary. She was a lifetime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she received the Women’s Honorary Life Membership Award. Becky also served in various roles and committees, such as Sunday School Teacher, Mobile Meals, Communion, Bereavement Committee, GIHN, Women’s Circle, and Congregational Care Committee. She served on numerous service projects, helped with community beautification, always kept the road in front of her house clean, was a school volunteer, and was very active with Tele-Care. She enjoyed working outside and loved being with family and friends.
She was constantly thinking of others, and put everyone else first
In addition to her parents, Becky was preceded in death by her brother, L.A. Walker III.
Surviving is her husband, Dan; daughter, Gretchen Horley and son Marty Horley and wife Mary Ann, all of Summerfield; sister, Nancy Walker of Lexington, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Sunday, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Chapel, following the service in the church fellowship hall, and other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4-A Oak Branch Court, Greensboro NC 27407, or to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3906 W. Friendly Ave., Greensboro, NC 27410.
The family wishes to extend their appreciation to Dr. Peter Rubin and the staff at Wesley Long Oncology Department and Cancer Center for taking such good care of Becky and our family during these last few weeks.
