Rebecca Mullins

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, December 20, 2010 at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel, with Rev. Jim Cates officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.

Born in Greensboro, September 11, 1921, to the late Joseph and Carrie Bishop, Mrs. Mullins was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved working in her flower gardens, cooking, and had special place in her heart for animals. Her life’s work was that of a caregiver. She loved taking care of babies and not only those in her immediate family. She lent a helping hand to any and everyone who needed it. Her family, friends, and community will miss her love and generosity, but their loss is Heaven’s gain. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mullins was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, Tommy Mullins, in 1973. Also preceding her in death were all four of her brothers and her two sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Judy Hare, Vicki Haynes and her husband Brigg, and Lynn Cranson; son, Jerry Mullins; grandchildren, Jessica, Laurie, Crystal, Marie, and Michael; 6 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 pm Monday, prior to the funeral service, at the funeral home and other times at Mrs. Mullins residence.
