Born in Wallington, NJ, the middle child of Lillian and Louis Molner. Rita was graduated from Clifton High School and then from secretarial school. She was married in 1946 to Jack Steinert who had served in the Pacific in the Navy as a Quartermaster First Class. They were married for 35 years and had two children, John Christian and Pamela Ann, and primarily resided in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. Rita became the administrative assistant to the Executive Vice President of Becton Dickinson (Henry P. Becton), and retired in 1984 after 25 years of service. After the passing of her first husband, Rita married John McIntyre Forrester, Jr. in 1987. John had also served in the military -- in Europe in the Army Air Corp as a First Lieutenant. John and Rita were married for 17 years and spent most of their married life in Palm Coast, Fl.
Throughout her life, Rita’s zest for life and her creativity inspired others. Rita especially loved painting whether in oil, acrylic, charcoal, pastels, or watercolor. She showcased her work in a Florida exhibit, and many of her works grace her family’s homes. Rita created joy with her crafting, floral arrangements, sewing, flare for colors and decorating. Even in her declining years, Rita was always ready for any opportunity to create something new. Her enthusiasm for life is best exemplified by her social activities (such as her volunteer work for the NJ Club), her love of games (especially pinochle and scrabble), and her willingness to take on new challenges, travel to new places, meet new people, and try new things. She will be remembered for her kind encouraging words, her friendly smile, her fun-loving demeanor, and her artistic nature.
Rita is survived by her loving children, Chris Steinert and his wife June Kibe, and Pamela Steinert and her husband Ken Quintana. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Alexandra Fastige, Alan Steinert, and Corene Steinert.
