Robert B. Howard

A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 7, 2016, at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel, 515 North Elm Street. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Robert was born September 21, 1940, in Ronceverte, WV to the late Clayton and Thelma Howard. He grew up in Waynesboro, VA and was a graduate of the engineering school at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. His work career began in 1961, with Blue Bell Wrangler. He retired in 1999 as Vice President of Operations at VF.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Howard was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Howard. He leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Sue; step-daughter, Cathy Bowen of Greensboro; sons, Michael Howard and wife Heather of Greensboro, Clay Howard and wife Nicole of Kernersville; seven grandchildren all of Greensboro and Kernersville; sister, Rosemary Rinde of Endicott, NY and his brother, Bill Howard of Melissa, TX.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Home of High Point, 1803 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262 or Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3906 West Friendly Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27410.
