Robert Lee "Bobby" Gilreath Jr.

Born January 21, 1952 in Greenville, SC, Bobby was the son of the late Robert Lee Gilreath, Sr., and Minnie Johnson Gilreath of Greensboro, NC. He was predeceased by his sister Jean Gilreath Hubbard of Gaffney, SC.

Bobby grew up in Greensboro and as a Down’s Syndrome adult, he lived in an RHA group home in Greensboro and later in Belew’s Creek. He was known for having friends and for giving strong hugs. Bobby loved to listen to music, to watch sports and movies, to read his Bible and to participate in the Happy Hearts class of First Baptist Church in Greensboro. He was also an avid Clemson Tigers fan.

He is survived by his nephew Douglas Gilreath Hubbard and wife Lora of Gaffney, SC, a niece Nancy Hubbard Andrews of Richmond, VA, brother-in-law Dr. John R. Hubbard of Gaffney and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the First Baptist Church Chapel. Burial will be in Westminster Gardens.

The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
