Born in Danville, VA on November 27, 1958 he was the son of the late Claude Irvin Slayton, Sr. and Martha “Pat” Gleaton Slayton.
Robert worked as a Cemetery Grounds Keeper for the City of Danville. He was of the Baptist faith.
On September 10, 1988, he married Cynthia “Cindy” Davis Slayton.
Robert is survived by his wife of 34 years, Cindy Davis Slayton; his two sister, Carmen Nuckles Collins (Jerry), Patricia S. Blevins (John); sister-in-law, Sharon Slayton; and numerous other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Claude I. Slayton, Jr.
A graveside service will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Slayton Family Cemetery on Slayton Rd, Sutherlin, VA.
