Robert (Bobby) Lynn Williams, 64, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 13th, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born on February 6th, 1957 in Charlotte, NC. The son of the late Joseph Redden Williams and Margaret Louise Crump Williams.

He graduated from Ragsdale High School in 1976 where he played football, baseball, and wrestling. He was a decorated Veteran and Sergeant servicing in the United States Air Force as a Security Specialist. He worked as a proud truck driver known to many as “Uncle Bob” throughout his life at Village Meats, VSA, Averitt Express, USF Holland, JKS Sports, and CLI Transport with Sheetz.

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents & in-laws, Calvin and Betty Segraves. He leaves behind the love of his life and Wife of 38 years, Betsy; Daughters, Sarah, Ashley Welborn & Husband Zachary; Brother in law, Spencer Seagraves & wife Vivian; Nephew, Bradford Seagraves & wife Anna; Niece, Lauren Aucker & Husband Bryce; Great Nieces, Emery Seagraves, Sophie & Brianne Aucker; and Great Nephew, Elijah Seagraves.

Bobby lived his life to the fullest. He loved God, his family, friends and Country first and foremost with all his heart. He was very devoted to his family and would do anything for anyone. He was the epitome of a good man and loved by everyone. He knew how to make the best out of every situation. You couldn’t help but smile when Bobby was around.

Bobby was taken from us too soon and will be greatly missed by all. His spirit will live on reminding us he is here by shining his light through an American flag flying, the sound of a Harley-Davidson engine, or a shot of Jack Daniels Whiskey. He will continue to live on through those fortunate enough to know him, reminiscing through the good laughs and good times he created. May we all continue to soar as high as Bobby, the dude abides.

My deepest sympathy to Betsy, Sarah and Ashley. As well as the extended family. I will miss you Uncle Bob. I would ask him his thoughts on something from time to time knowing he would give me a common sense answer. He knew a lot about a lot of things. My life has been blessed knowing Bob. I will see you in Glory my friend. Phil 1:3

I grew up a few houses down from the Williams. Friday night was card night at their house. Lots of laughter and love in their home. Bobby was such an awesome person and friend. He will be missed by all the lives he touched. Thanks for the memories created by your home. Rest well my friend.

Bobby was the best! He was so welcoming to everyone. He was truly one of a kind. He married my sister in 1982. They were high school sweethearts and only death could separate Bobby from Betsy. Bobby started out as my brother-in-law, but quickly we became so close that I viewed him as my only brother! He had a sweet spirit underneath that manly exterior. He was a man's man, but he also was a tremendous husband, father, brother, and friend to all. We will miss you here Bobby, but we will always remember you. You brought so much joy to so many people. May your body rest in peace and your soul be with our Lord in His heavenly home. I will miss you and love you forever,
Spence Seagraves

To Betsy, Sarah, and Ashley and extended family. I became acquainted with Bob in 1991 when I started driving with VSA. It wasn't long until I considered him as a friend. The ensuing years proved that to be absolutely so. Through job changes life changes and some really tough times I was the grand recipient of a friendship which few ever get. I as well as others who knew Bob as a friend were certainly blessed. Fiercely loyal to his family and friends was who he was. Most of all his unsolicited testimony of Jesus Christ as savior was what brought us even closer. That I will cling to and take to my last day on this earth. Uncle Bob you beat me there, but I'll be seeing you in a little while my brother. Love to all the family and prayers.

My heart goes out to Betsy- Sarah and Ashley on the passing of Bob. He had a long hard battle in the last few years, but he never gave up on his sense of humor and having a good laugh. I meet Bob in 1994 when we started at the same job being freight haulers and it was a instant friendship and continued that friendship to his last breath. Many rides on motorcycles & late night drives to all points in the country in Semi’s , he was a good husband - father and friend and he will be dearly missed. Bob may be gone but he lives on in my memories, Adios for now my friend but some day we will ride again , but for now Uncle Bob is riding with the King!!!

For many years growing up I was fortunate enough to be welcomed into the Williams family as the best friend of Bobby’s youngest daughter, Ashley. I have many memories as a child at the William’s home and on vacations where Bobby, in many ways, was a father figure to me. I know he absolutely adored his girls (Wife, daughters and dogs!). He would do anything to bring a smile to their face. My memories with Bobby are marked with many laughs and silliness and lots of love! An incredible family man and Father who worked so hard to provide anything and everything his girls needed or could ever want. I cherish the memories that I have with Bobby in them and know that while he will be painfully missed here on earth, in Heaven his family and friends will reunite with him one day with a Harley in tow, a shot of Jack Daniels, that impressionable smile and lightheartedness that made him so special to so many people!
