Mr. Rodney L Ramey, age 67, of McLeansville, NC passed away on Friday morning, May 14, 2021. Rodney had a long courageous battle with cancer for eight years. We know he is now completely healed and in the presence of our Lord and Savior. He was born on March 29, 1954 in Greensboro, NC to Selma B. Ramey and the late Ed C. Ramey. Before his retirement, Rodney worked as a lineman and then as a supervisor at Duke Energy having 48 years of service there. He loved his work family, enjoyed his interactions with his customers, and loved working with the storm teams helping those who needed help the most. He was a former member at Hines Chapel Church in McLeansville, NC from childhood and was a faithful member at Grace Fellowship at South Park in Reidsville, NC. Rodney loved the Lord and used his cancer story as a testimony. He would pray for the other patients and their families in the waiting room knowing he would never be able to ring the bell. His faith, love, and commitment to God, his family and his friends were unmeasurable. We all knew how much he loved and cherished us. He truly had a servant’s heart. Rodney also had a love for finding other people’s discarded treasures and refurbishing them. He had a talent for woodworking that was passed down from his dad. His greatest joy was traveling and making memories with his wife and family. Rodney is survived by his wife of 44 years, Judy Causey Ramey; daughter Laurie Keesee Alderman, her husband Kevin Alderman and their children Seth Daniel Fields and Emma Leanne Fields; his mother Selma B. Ramey; his brother Jeff L. Ramey and his wife Gladys Kammetler; nieces Davis L. Ramey and K. Glenn Ramey; brother and sister in law Jim M. Judy and Family,
So sorry to hear about our dear friend Rodney. He was such a good friend and we had some great times when our group would travel to Cancun and Dominican Republic. I know he put up a good fight and now he is rejoicing up in Heaven with his dad.

We worked with Rodney at Duke, him and Judy are very special people. He loved his family and his work. We affectionately called him “double bubble”. You could count on him for anything! He will be missed, but we are so glad he was able to travel and make memories with his family.

Thoughts and prayers for you all. Jimmy and Debbie

I loved Rodney and Judy and the family..knew them for years and worked with Rodney and shared an office with him for a while at Cedarpark at Duke Energy..always thought so much of him and Judy and the family. I know Rodney loved his family with all his heart and I am sure that is why he fought to stay here as long as he could. Sending prayers and love to the family.

We are so sorry for your loss but glad for Heaven's gain. Brother Rodney (not biologically) was a great friend who we met at Kure Beach around 1988. We tried to go back there every year at the same time. He will be forever missed.

One of our memory’s with Rodney was him helping me get Engagement ring to Florida and getting into the magic kingdom for proposal to Kara. Rodney was so nervous keeping this ring and was happy to get rid of it. Rodney is a great guy like an brother and uncle to me and Kara. I know Rodney is hunting for stuff in heaven for Charlie Rierson to weld up and Mr. Ramey is telling them both it’s not level. Rodney will be missed and we would like his family to know prayers are with them. No trip to Disney is the same without him and any time I find a sharks tooth I will think of him. Love Phil and Kara Madren.

Dear Judy, Jeff and all the family, I worked with Rodney for several years and I thought a lot of him. He loved to pick on me about my hearty appetite and always told the ladies to keep an eye on me at the Chicken Pie suppers at the church. He was a good man and I will always remember him. May God bring you all peace and comfort during this difficult time. Love and prayers, Teresa and Mike Hawkins
