

Wallace Ronald “Ron” Belton, 64, a resident of Greensboro died Wednesday morning September 26, 2012 at Moses H. Cone Hospital. Mr. Belton was born September 5, 1948 in Greensboro the son of Alice Nichols Belton and the late Wallace Raymond Belton. He was a graduate of Sumner High School Class of 1966 and attended Guilford College. Ron served in the U.S. Navy from 1968-1972 aboard the USS Canisteo. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 1981. A Mason, he was a member of the P.P. Turner Lodge 746 A.F. & A. M. and was a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Greensboro. Ron was co-owner of Church Interiors in High Point for the last 31 years and a member of Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church since 1982. He also served as a Trustee and former District Delegate to the Western North Carolina United Methodist Conference for more than 20 years.
Ron was preceded in death by his father and two grandchildren, Taylor Anne Belton Transou and Madison Danielle Dragoo.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Patricia Roberson Belton; two daughters, Robyn Belton Dragoo and husband Travis of Knightdale, Emilee Belton Transou and husband Stamps of Greensboro; his mother, Alice Nichols Belton of Greensboro; one sister, Brenda Belton Hawkins and husband David of Summerfield; one brother, Mike L. Belton and wife Linda of Whitsett; his mother-in-law, Mildred Roberson of Greensboro; two grandchildren, Lily Reece Dragoo, Rebecca Anne Belton Transou and three new granddaughters due October 2012. Ron is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He will be missed by all those who knew him.
As a co-founder of Church Interiors, Inc, Ron was dedicated to providing services to all faiths. He had a very strong work ethic and loved working with all church members. He provided leadership and friendship to all who knew him.
Ron’s greatest joy in life was spending time with family and friends whether at home, Smith Mountain Lake, or Wrightsville Beach. Where Ron was, there was always fun, joy and happiness. According to Ron, “If you didn’t have fun here, it was you own fault!” Ron enjoyed the game of golf, and will be greatly missed by his Westfield Golfing buddies.
All who knew Ron had the opportunity to watch his great passion for Duke Basketball. As an Iron Duke, he loved watching games and pulling for the men in the “right” shade of blue!
It is with a heavy heart that we share with you the passing of our dear son, husband, father, brother, and Grandpa. He was taken from us so unexpectedly. We know deep in our hearts that he is in a better place, but right now we feel deep sadness for our loss. He was a great provider, strong family man, and a loyal friend. We have suffered a great loss and we will miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church conducted by Reverend Ted Troutman and Reverend Greg Light. Interment with Masonic Rites and Military Honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will be in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
