Ronald Bruce Reiffer, age 86, of Greensboro, North Carolina, passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior on Friday, November 7, 2025. A devoted follower of Christ, Ronald found ultimate comfort and solace in Jesus throughout his life and in the face of death. He lived by the truth that “neither death nor life… nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39). His faith was not just a belief but a guiding light that shaped every aspect of his existence, drawing him closer to the Savior who redeemed him.
Born April 12, 1939, in Kent County, Michigan, Ronald was the son of John and Joan (Potgeter) Reiffer. He graduated from Grand Rapids Christian High School in 1958 and proudly served his country in the United States Army and Reserves, receiving an honorable discharge on March 31, 1964. A proud veteran, Ronald’s deep patriotism endured long after his service; each day, he raised a large American flag in his yard as a symbol of his gratitude for the freedoms he defended and his love for the nation that God had blessed.
Ronald’s professional life was marked by dedication and skill. He spent 30 years at Steelcase as an electrician and maintenance supervisor, later owned and operated a semi-truck, and served as head of maintenance for 15 years at Ray’s Investment Properties.
Above all earthly loyalties, Ronald’s heart overflowed with unconditional love for his family. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marianne (Venema) Reiffer, in February 2002, and his brother, John Reiffer. On August 30, 2002, he married Kay (Vaughn/Hoppa) Reiffer in Coopersville, Michigan, beginning a cherished chapter filled with companionship and joy.
Ronald delighted in the simple pleasures of life. He was actively involved in the functions and choir at Grace Baptist Church of Greensboro, where his voice and spirit uplifted many. A master woodworker, he found great satisfaction in fixing anything that was broken. He adored his dogs, Teddy and Mocha, and looked forward to Saturday morning breakfast outings.
Yet, his greatest joy was his family. Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Kay Bea Reiffer; his children, Bruce Reiffer (Lori) and Marijo Loper; his children by marriage, Todd Vaughn (Nancy), Susan Wozny (Michael), Jerry Vaughn (Linda), and Randy Vaughn (Amber); his siblings, Nancy Wezeman (Henry) and Richard Reiffer (Cheryl); 23 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He supported them all with prayers through joys and trials, with a steadfastness rooted in Christ’s example of selfless love.
His legacy is one of faith, family, and flag—a testimony to a life surrendered to God, lived in service to others, and now eternally at rest in the arms of his Lord.
A memorial service celebrating Ronald’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Grace Baptist Church, 2008 Fairfax Road, Greensboro, NC 27407, with visitation preceding at 1:00 p.m.
