Greensboro- Rosalind “Ros” Gilmer Dixon departed this life in Temple, TX on Tuesday, May 4, 2010, after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Bethel AME Church, 200 N. Regan Street, Greensboro, NC.
Rosalind, daughter of the late James Robert Gilmer and Theora Gregg Gilmer, was born on December 25, 1950, in Greensboro, NC.
Survivors include her children, Dr. Bryan H. Derrickson, PhD (Rob), Orlando, Florida and 1St LT Karen C. Derrickson, Killeen, Texas; sisters, Dolores G. Clapp, Jacquelyn P. Smith, Terry Speed, and Eileen G. Blackwell (all of Greensboro); one brother, Roderick E. Gilmer (also of Greensboro); and nieces, nephews, and a host of other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church or to the American Cancer Society.
