Mrs. Roselyn Elaine Goolsby Johnson was received by her Savior and completely restored on June 20, 2018. She fearlessly waged war against cancer for several years and passed away at home comforted by her husband and daughters.
Her life will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 1 PM at Purpose House Church, 507 Balboa Street, Greensboro, NC 27405. Friends and family are welcome to pay their respects at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm chapel where Mrs. Johnson will lie in state from 4 PM to 7 PM, Tuesday, June 26.
Roselyn was born in Guilford County, graduated from James B. Dudley High School and attended A&T State University. While still in high school she met James Ronald Johnson who she married on August 24, 1974. For almost 44 years they created beautiful memories and reared three daughters. Roselyn maintained a successful career in child development and education and was employed with Center For Champions, Solomon’s World at Mt. Zion Baptist Church and New Millennium Center. She will always be remembered for investing in the future of the youth. She also was an ordained minister and there was nothing more important to her than serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Roselyn had a servant’s heart and was most content when ministering to others through acts of kindness, words and prayer or food. She had an easy way about her, an independent spirit and a selfless nature. Her heart was full when she was with her friends, family and especially her grandchildren. They spent countless hours at the park, vacationing at the beach, dining out together, and going to the movies. She was their tireless cheerleader at school events and unwavering supporter of anything they attempted. She loved to cook and recently began crafting professional quality pillows after taking a sewing class at GTCC.
Left to cherish her memory is her treasured partner and soul mate, James of Greensboro; adored daughters, Dr.Quan Terrelle Johnson of Archdale, Mrs. Yuron Johnson Dryden and Miss Kia Danielle Johnson, both of Greensboro; and three precious grandchildren, Jordan Johnson, Jaden Dryden and Gabrielle Dryden. Also surviving is a large extended family that cherishes their memories of Roselyn.
