Roy B. Cox

Roy Bynum Cox, 88, passed away Monday, September 7, at Forsyth Medical Center.
Roy was born June 23, 1932, in Forsyth County, NC, son of the late George and Hattie Cox. After 25 years of faithful service, Roy retired from Kayser-Roth Hosiery Inc. In 1975, while working at Burlington Industries, he patented a needle for making socks and hosiery. He was a bee keeper, farmer, and a gardener. Roy was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Kernersville for over 20 years where he served as Deacon and usher.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years and the love of his life that he missed since she passed, Mrs. Mary B. Cox; stepson, James Hensley and his sister, Pauline Loy. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Whitfield; stepdaughter, Judy Shepherd; granddaughter, Amy Whitfield; grandsons, Bynum Hensley, Michael Shepherd; niece, Annette Vaughn and nephew, Wayne Loy.

This is a photo of uncle Roy as a young boy growing up. Had his shot gun proudly in his arm against his shoulder. He never liked to stay too long in one place either, he was always on the go. He will be greatly missed.
