Roy was born on May 25, 1948, the son of Roy K. and Minnie Ann Leonard Stanley Sr. He served his country in the US Army. He worked with the Don Mays GMC, Buick, Pontiac Automotive Group. He enjoyed playing guitar, collecting coins and working in his garden.
Roy is survived by his son, Roy Kenneth Stanley III and wife Janie of Thomasville, NC; brother, Steven Stanley and wife Cynthia of Tampa, FL; sisters, Carolyn Page and husband William of Baden Lake, NC and Mary Ann Mays and husband Donnie of Salisbury, NC; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Stanley and Tristen Stanley.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014, 7:00 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
