

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, December 27, 2015, at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel, 515 North Elm Street. Pastor David Smith will be officiating.
Ruby was born November 22, 1928, in Guilford Co., NC to the late Lester and Carrie Jarvis. She graduated from Grimsley High School and attended Women’s College, now known as UNC-G, on a scholarship. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church.
Ruby was a loving and caring person, strong in her faith and would reach out to others to support them in times of need. She will be remembered for being quick witted and her artistic talents. Her acrylic paintings were featured in local art shows.
In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her sister, Margie Porter, and her brothers, James and Clyde Jarvis. She is survived by her daughter, Kay Landry and husband, Robert of Mocksville, NC; son, Jay and wife, Paula of Union Hall, VA; grandson, Chris Miller and wife, Jennifer of Winston-Salem, NC; granddaughters, Carrie Miller of Williamsburg, VA, Jenna Pace and husband, Collins, of Longview, TX, Heidi Koski and husband, Kevin of Chesapeake, VA, and Holly Johnson and husband, Brady of Sparks, OK. Great-grandchildren include Grace Elizabeth Miller, Kennedy and Senia Koski, and Clay and Alex Johnson. Also surviving are several loving nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends following the service.
