Sam Nazal, 73, of Greensboro, formerly of Detroit, MI, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026, at his home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Boulevard, Greensboro, NC 27407. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
He was the son of the late Ibrahim Abdalla Nazzal and Manwah Samarnah Nazzal and was also preceded in death by his brothers, Elia Nazzal, George Nazzal, Taffy Nazzal, and Abdallah Nazzal.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughters, Heather Lula and her husband, Benjamin; Samantha Beidoun and her husband Hussain; and Christie Naja, and her husband, Michael; granddaughter, Willow Faith Lula; brothers, Mike Nazzal, Kamal Nazzal, and Addie Nazzal; sisters, Samira Haddad and Munirah Dugum; and many nieces and nephews.
Sam was a 1973 graduate of Smith High School. In his younger years, he owned a Pinball and Pool Hall on High Point Road. As a very business-minded person, Sam was very innovative in his thinking. Sam was an entrepreneur—he started out selling handbags out of his car, which was an idea he got from his brother Ab. He then went on to sell at handbag shows and eventually opened his own leather goods and exotic accessory business, Ginevere, in Detroit, MI. He always strived to give the best customer service and treat people the right way.
His daughters were the light of his life, and he always had stories to tell about them. He was always bragging about his sons-in-law and how wonderful they were to his daughters. Becoming a grandfather and getting to see his granddaughter, Willow, on facetime was something he was most recently proud of. Sam was a family-oriented man and moved back to North Carolina to take care of his sisters. There are many words that described Sam as a person; generous, wise, selfless, encouraging, but most importantly, funny. He had a unique, dry sense of humor and was always smiling. He never met a stranger and would talk to anyone.
In his free time, he enjoyed watching YouTube comedy videos and movies. He loved feeding the birds in his yard and always had something to give them. Sam was a believer in Jesus Christ and is going home to be with the Lord.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, 2432 W Gate City Blvd, Greensboro, NC 27403.
Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel is honored to serve the Nazal family.
