Sara Ann Minish Holden

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel. Burial will follow at Westminster Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Holden was born in Commerce, GA, July 1, 1924, to the late Richard Allan Minish and Cammie Jane Segars Minish. She was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church. Sara was a loving and devoted wife, a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who loved nothing more than spending time with her family. She was homemaker who loved to cook and was an excellent baker. She loved to shop and never met a stranger and loved everyone she knew. For ten years she worked for Vicks Chemical Company, but her real passion was sewing and keeping her grandchildren. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Holden was preceded in death by a granddaughter, April Teresa Thomas Jones.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 64 years, John Buford “JB” Holden of the home; daughter, Janice H. Thomas and husband Harry of Greensboro; son, John Douglas Holden and wife Geraldine of Plymouth, MA; sisters, Dorothy Pritchett of SC and Jane Williams of GA; grandchildren, Christie T. Bisbee and her husband Glenn of Greensboro, Jason Holden and his wife Nicole of Australia, and Jennifer Snigner and her husband Rich of Plymouth, MA; and great-grandchildren, Alex Bisbee, Sarah Bisbee, Emmalyne Lyttle, Abby Lyttle, Lockey Holden, Olive Holden, and Freddie Holden.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Monday, September 12, 2011, at the funeral home.
