Services will be held on Monday, October 3, 2016 at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel at 11:00am with Rev. Robert Voorhees officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park in Lynchburg, VA.
Mrs. Jones was born in Greensboro, NC to the late Lonnie and Elizabeth Ridge Hardin. She worked at Jefferson Pilot Insurance Company and subsequently worked as a legal secretary for over fifty years.
She was one of the founding members of Westover Church. Her husband, William P. Jones was the founding pastor of Westover Church.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her son William P. Jones, Jr. and wife Kathleen of Chapel Hill, NC; grandchildren, Rebecca Hardin Martin, Melissa Ann Jones, and Scott Levine Jones; great grandchildren, Anderson Scott Martin and Bennett John Martin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Duke HomeCare and Hospice, Office of Development, 4321 Medical Park Drive, Suite 101 Durham, NC 27704 in memory of Sarah Elizabeth Jones.
