

Sears was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 1, 1934, to James and Kathryn Steen. After graduating high school in NJ, he attended art school. He spent the majority of his career as a plant manager in the pre-press plate industry, working for companies in Clifton, NJ, Atlanta, GA, and in Greensboro.
Sears enjoyed trips to the mountains and hiking. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed reading thriller novels, and was very interested in news and information, especially current events.
Sears was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jim Steen, and his sister, Peggy Germain. He is survived by his brother, Walter Steen of Fort Pierce, FL. Sears is also survived by his wife of 64 years, Marjorie Steen, of Greensboro; daughter, Jeanne Monticelli (John) of Susanville, CA; daughter, Sue Tyskewicz (Dave) of Lake Hiawatha, NJ; son, Andy Steen (Susan) of High Point, NC; and five grandchildren, Gregg Finver, Will Bausch, Dan Bausch, Joshua Steen, and Sarah Steen.
A celebration of Sears’ life will be held for family members at a later time.
