Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 2:00 pm at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 408 Martin Luther King Drive, Greensboro, with Pastor Betite Parrish officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Sheria was born in Milwaukee, WI to Gregory and Alberita Lee Stringer. She was a graduate of Guilford Technical Community College Early College where she was the Valedictorian. She received a scholarship to North Carolina State University to study Engineering. She graduated from Guilford Technical Community College with an Associate degree in Architecture Design and Engineering.
Sheria was a member of Second Chance Restoration Ministries where she participated in the music ministry where she played keyboard and guitar. She was a composer and was learning to play the ukulele. She enjoyed photography, poetry, art, and the spoken word. Sheria was also writing a book on electromagnetism in the human body.
She was employed by the City of Greensboro Water and sewage department in the civil engineering branch. She had also worked for other water treatment companies and for the Salvation Army. She loved helping others and mentoring younger people. She enjoyed going out to movies, concerts, bowling, basketball, and gardening. She was known for her joyful and kind nature with a sweet laugh and quiet spirit.
Sheria is survived by her father, Gregory Stringer, Sr. and wife Christy of Cleveland, NC; mother, Alberita Lee Stringer; sister, Stephenique Newkirk, brothers, Sean Easley all of Greensboro, and Gregory Stringer, Jr. of Lillington NC and Solomon Stringer of Cleveland, NC.
