Sheridan “Sherry” Louise Richardson, 70, after a courageous battle with cancer, passed away Friday, October 5, 2018, at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro. A visitation will be held welcoming family and friends on October 15 from 6:00pm-7:00pm, immediately followed by a celebration of life service from 7:00pm-8:00pm at Hanes Lineberry, Sedgefield Chapel.
Sherry was born in Greensboro, NC July 28, 1948 to the late William Robert Swift and Dorothy Bobbitt Swift. She was a graduate of Smith High School and continued her education at GTCC where she graduated from nursing school. For 32 years, Sherry worked as a registered nurse at Wesley Long Hospital as well as in the PV Lab and Cardiac Holding Area at Moses Cone Hospital.
Sherry was a loving wife, mother, nana, sister and dear friend who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, reading, summer beach trips and fall rides to the mountains. She was a lover of horses and spent much of her younger years riding at Sedgefield Stables.
She is survived by her husband, Roby A. Richardson Jr. of the home, daughters; Robyn Holliday, husband James of Greensboro and Melody Snell, husband Aaron of High Point, son Mark Richardson of Greensboro, three grandchildren; Ryan and Emma Holliday and Christian Snell, brother Robert Swift, wife Maria of Greensboro and sister Sandra Swift of Boston, Massachusetts.
She will be dearly missed. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in her name.
