Shirley was born in Astoria Queens and raised in Centereach Long Island by her parents John and Shirley Cardno. She was one of 11 children. Shirley was married to Nicholas Vezzi and raised three children together primarily in Greensboro NC, where Shirley ultimately passed at the age of 69. Shirley was predeceased by her son Matthew and her Husband Nicholas. Shirley was a kind soul and a friend to all. She will be dearly missed by her children Nicky and Alison and her grandchildren (Tyler, Isabella, Ava and Gio) and step grandchildren ( Michelle and Christopher).
A gathering to celebrate her life will be held On Sunday November 27th 2022 from 2pm - 4pm at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel 6000 West Gate City Blvd. Greensboro, NC 27407. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday December 10, 2022 at the Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church at 33 Crown Acres Rd, Centereach, NY 11720
