Siomy Jack Routh, 91, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at his home in Greensboro, NC. He was born on July 10, 1931, in Panama, CA, to his loving parents, Jasper Routh and Antonia Ruiz Barberena Routh. After moving to Charlotte, NC, to live with his uncle, Bill, and graduating from Central High School, Jack served in the US Army, attended NCSU, and was a member of the university soccer team, majoring in mathematics. After meeting the love of his life, Maxine Wallace, on a blind date, they later married, moved to Greensboro and Jack graduated from Guilford College. He worked as a draftsman throughout his career, he was an avid reader, wrote several short stories, poems, and a novel. Jack enjoyed sports and had a marvelous sense of humor. Always curious, Jack was the household handyman, who was always tinkering, fixing, building, and constructing things and filed for several patents. Jack is preceded in death by, Maxine Routh, his wife of 60 years. Jack was a good man, husband, and father; he loved his family dearly and cherished the time he spent with them. He was kind to everyone he met and always offered a helping hand to those in need. Jack took care of his family, especially his special needs son, Wally, enabling him to remain in the home with the loving care of his family. He is so loved by his family and he will be deeply missed by all. Jack is survived by his three sons, Siomy Wallace “Wally” Routh, Stacy Jack “Bucky” Routh, both of Greensboro, NC; Mark Jeffrey Routh, and wife, Mollie Routh, of Matthews, NC; two grandchildren, Jeff Routh, Annie Roney, her husband, Marshall, Jack’s brother, Homer, sister, Gladys along with multiple nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 11:00 am at Guilford Memorial Park.
