She was the daughter of the late Harvey Henry Apple and Faye Estelle Bennett Apple and was also preceded in death by her sisters, Sadie Coble, Sue Beck, and Shirley Hester, and brother, Wayne Apple.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, husband of 69 years, Glenn Smith; son, Jeff Smith (Toni); grandchildren, Camille Smith (Matt Morgan) and Alex Smith; brother, Harvey “Sonny” Apple (Pat); sister, Sharon McIntyre (Wayne); and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Boulevard, Greensboro, NC 27407, with interment following at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Garden Baptist Church, 1415 Neelley Rd, Pleasant Garden, NC 27313.
