

A Funeral Mass will be concelebrated on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 3:00 pm, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 812 Duke St., Greensboro, NC 27401, by Father John Timlin and Monsignor Anthony Marcaccio with Deacon Vincent Shaw assisting. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the Mass, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the church.
Stephen spent his career protecting and serving his country. He served in the United States Army 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg and the Joint Security Force in Korea. Stephen then earned his BA degree from Guilford College in 1994. He went on to serve his country working with the United States Border Patrol and Federal Air Marshal Service. Stephen continued his career in 2005 at Blackwater Security and while in Iraq suffered life threatening injuries from a mortar attack. He fought with determination and overcame his injuries. To his family, he was an all around hero.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Ruth; brothers, Chris (Bernadette) and Kevin; sisters, Nancy Talley Helms (Les) and Kathy Clark (Andy); nieces and nephews, Tom (Amanda), Erin (Gene), Joe, Megan, Charlotte, Philip, Daniel, Julia, and Patrick; great nieces, Riley and Farrah; and his friend, Alex Teal. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph P. White. He was loved by many and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
