Steve began his life in West Virginia. He had many fun times there at his aunt Betty and uncle Tom Clark's house on a lake. He enjoyed times there as a child and as an adult with his own family. He grew up with his four cousins, Linda, Nancy, Martha and Jan Clark. He enjoyed living in Homestead, FL and Fayetteville, NC. He attended Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC where he met his wife. After they married in 1971, they moved to Greenville, NC for ten years. He attended East Carolina University where he received his Physical Therapist degree. He loved his life's work in physical therapy and spent over forty years in various settings including hospitals, clinics, and home health. He always loved his work and touched many with his compassionate and outgoing personality. Outside of work, Steve was a devoted family man, friend and mentor. He had an infectious laugh, quick wit and his generosity knew no bounds. He was very involved with his children and always volunteered to coach ball, be a scout leader, and be involved in PTA. He never missed a softball, baseball or basketball game, diving match, or dance recital that his children were involved in. He enjoyed bowling, salt or freshwater fishing and hunting. He enjoyed going boating, especially when he had a pontoon boat. As a PawPaw his five grandchildren meant the world to him, and he was involved in every aspect of their lives.
He had a life well lived. He may be gone from our sight but never from our hearts. He will be missed by many. A private celebration of life will be held at a later time.
