Dr. Steven George “Stevie” Liringis – Lisa’s love of her life, joy of her heart, her extraordinary, wonderful husband of 22 years passed away unexpectedly the morning of September 30 of cardiac arrest leaving many friends and family heartbroken and forever changed.
Stevie and Lisa were two peas in a pod and they enjoyed life to the fullest. All of their children (Mopar, Maverick, and Stella) have paws. It has been said by many that they wanted to be Stevie and Lisa’s dogs.
Stevie was born in St. Louis, Missouri to George Ernest Liringis and Effie Xamis Liringis. The name Liringis is of Greek origin. Being Greek means you have many relatives…too many to list individually except for a few. Stevie leaves behind his daughter Grandi of Florida, his brother Dean of Arizona, his godson Brian of Arizona, his nephew Matthew of Arizona; and great granddaughter Sophie of Pennsylvania. A special and heartfelt thank you to the Hill family (Maynard, Patricia and Todd) for always being there when needed, and to John Papson and Herb Broadmeadow for their support during Stevie’s non-driving time. He loved you all very much. And finally, a special thanks to Crystal and Tammie for treating Liringis Chiropractic and Rehabilitation like it was their own business.
Stevie worked many jobs putting himself through school before graduating from Logan University in Chesterfield Missouri. Logan University is a private special focus university providing college education in Chiropractic. Stevie practiced Chiropractic for 42 years before retiring twice. He had offices in Winston-Salem and Greensboro.
Stevie had an infectious smile that went along with his John Travolta dance moves. He was a great guy who will be missed by any and every one who came in contact with him.
Along with being a dancing king, Stevie loved his music. When you hear any Donna Summer song, think of Stevie. He passed his Chiropractic Board Exams listening to her songs. Also, think of Stevie and Lisa when you hear Fleetwood Mac. (Especially the songs from the Rumors album and whenever you hear “Chapel of Love” by the Dixie Cups. We played that song constantly.) Grandi remembers "Celebration" by Kool and the Gang as the one song that gives her the best memories of her dad.
Memorial contributions may be made to Moravia Moravian Church, 2920 Oak Ridge Rd., Oak Ridge, NC 27310.
A celebration of Stevie’s life will be held from 5:30 until 7:30 pm on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Giovanni’s Italian Restaurant located on W. Gate City Boulevard.
