

Nancy Sue Burdette Jones, 84, of Greensboro passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday December 4, 2014. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 8, at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home, N. Elm Chapel; from 6 to 8 pm. Celebration of Sue’s Life will be 11 am Tuesday, December 9, at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 607 N. Greene Street, Greensboro. Burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery will precede the Service.
Sue was born in Salisbury, NC to Nancy Nunally Carter and Boyd Alexander Burdette of Spencer, NC. She attended St. Mary’s College in Raleigh.
“Sue B.” was an avid tennis player, and enjoyed golf, yoga, hiking, skiing, travel and time spent at the beach with her friends and family. She loved tending to her rose garden, needlepoint, painting and attending the ballet. She was a member of the Junior League, Wednesday Lecture Club, Pine Needles Garden Club, several bridge clubs and supported Weatherspoon Art Museum and other charities.
She was predeceased by two husbands: Harry Cramer and George Grimsley Jones; and a son, Harry Bruce Cramer; and is survived by her daughter Nancy Carter Brown and her husband Robert; and two stepsons, George Randolph Jones and Stuart Timothy Jones and his wife Janet and three grandchildren Ryan, Graham and Charlotte.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be offered to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 607 N. Greene Street, Greensboro NC 27401 and/or Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro NC 27405.
