Suzanne Elizabeth Batson

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Charles R. and Alvina H. Guggenbuehler of Alton, IL. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, William E. Batson, of Jamestown and sister, Ann C. Guggenbuehler of Bellaire, TX. Also surviving are extended family members, Deborah B. Daniels (sister-in-law), husband, James, and sons, Matt, Craig and Chris Daniels.

Sue is a 1967 graduate of Marquette Catholic High School, Alton, IL, and a 1972 graduate of Flagler College, St. Augustine, FL. She began her career as an elementary school teacher at St. Mary’s School, Alton, IL, and proceeded to work in major hospital systems in Columbia, SC, and Charleston, SC. Sue is a 20-year retiree from the Moses Cone Health System, Greensboro, in the Human Resources Department.

Greatly missed will be the love and laughter she shared so generously with those close to her. There can never be a replacement for her caring nature.

Sue will be interred at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Alton, IL, in a private ceremony, a priest from St. Mary’s Catholic Church presiding.

There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Monday February 12, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd. Greensboro, NC 27407
