
A Requiem Eucharist will be held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church on January 17, 2015 at 2 p.m. with inurnment to follow in the church columbarium. The family will receive friends at a reception afterwards in the Haywood Duke Room.
Suzanne was born on May 13, 1937 to the late Richard Lambdin Claypool and Irma Sanders Claypool in Chicago, IL. She attended Principia College in Illinois, married and moved to Texas, where she worked as an executive secretary for Wingate Partners in Dallas for more than twenty-five years. While in Texas, she sang with the Houston and then the Dallas Symphony Choruses. After retiring to North Carolina to be near her grandchildren, she also sang with the Greensboro Choral Society. She was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church and the Saint Catherine's Chapter of Episcopal Church Women, a chalicist and lector. Suzanne was also an avid supporter and board member of the Bel Canto company in Greensboro.
Suzanne is survived by daughters Gayle Denise Goddard of Houston, TX, and Alicia Anne Archibald and husband Don of Jamestown; grandchildren, Nicholas and Emily Archibald; former husband and dear friend, William C. Goddard, and his wife, Susan Hagan.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Suzanne's memory to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 607 N. Greene Street, Greensboro, NC 27401 or to the Bel Canto Company, 200 North Davie Street, Box 8, Suite 337, Greensboro, NC 27401. Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel is assisting the Goddard family.
