With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Terry Leon Elrod on July, 9th 2026. Terry was a beloved papa, dad, son, brother, business owner, mentor, and friend.
Terry was our very own "Super Man" with the biggest heart. He had a way of loving people that was uniquely his own. His love language was often tough love, but there was never any doubt about how deeply he cared. He believed in showing up, working hard, and taking care of the people he loved. To know Terry was to love him.
He was happiest with the people who meant the most to him, his beloved Nancy and his family. They were the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent making memories with them. Whether sharing laughter around the table, offering advice, or simply being present, Terry's greatest joy was loving and supporting his family.
As owner and boss of Elrod Electric, Terry led with strength, determination, and generosity. He expected the best from others because he believed in them, and he inspired those around him to work hard and never give up. His legacy will live on not only through his family but also through the countless lives he touched with his guidance, kindness, and unwavering support.
Outside of work, Terry embraced life with enthusiasm. He loved the beach, where he could relax and soak in the beauty of the coast. He enjoyed shag dancing, spending time on the golf course, casting a line while fishing, and riding his bike. He found joy in life's simple pleasures and made the most of every opportunity to be outdoors and with those he loved.
Surviving are his partner, Nancy Borum of Greensboro; son, Michael Shane Elrod (Melissa) of Madison; daughter, Cagney Elrod (Sam Festa) of Key West, FL; mother, Anette Watson of Reidsville; brothers, Randy Elrod and Jeff Watson (Wendy) both of Reidsville; sisters, Vickie King (Tim) of Burlington and Cheryl Bird (Dan) of Reidsville; grandchildren, Austin (Kelci) and Brady Elrod and Leighton and Lily Festa; great grandchild, Ashton Elrod.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Terry's love, laughter, wisdom, and spirit will remain with us forever. His legacy is one of hard work, loyalty, devotion, and unconditional love.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday, July 12, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Chapel. Following will be a celebration of life for Terry at Speak Easy Tavern at 1706 Battleground Ave. in Greensboro. Please wear your bright colors to celebrate Terry’s life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks with gratitude that memorials in Terry’s name be made to Children's Home of North Carolina.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.
