

Tommy Murray Calahan, 77, a resident of Greensboro, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024. He was born December 3, 1946, in Guilford County, the son of the late Guy Richard Calahan and Doris Elizabeth Straughn Calahan.
Tommy graduated from Page High School in 1965. He retired from Syngenta after 30 years of employment. A veteran, Tommy served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Good Shepherd Church. Tommy’s family was foremost to him, and he especially loved being with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruth Ballard Calahan, of the home; two daughters, Amber Sublett and husband Jeff of Greensboro, Jill Collins and husband Derek of Kernersville; one son, Greg Calahan of Greensboro; one sister, Charleen Melnyk and husband Steve of Randleman and three grandchildren, Noah Sublett, Caleb Sublett and Emily Sublett.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Good Shepherd Church, 4453 Sumner Church Rd., Greensboro, NC 27406, officiated by Pastor Steve Walsh. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
Tommy was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
