A celebration service of Tyler’s life will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, September 10, at the Greensboro Day School, at 5401 Lawndale Drive, Greensboro, NC, 27455. A celebration reception will follow the service.
Tyler was born December 6, 1996 in Greensboro, NC. He was a ninth grader at the Greensboro Day School. Last week, he was one of two freshmen who had been inducted into the school’s Honor Board. Tyler was on the Head’s List for his academic achievement. In addition, Tyler claimed the Best Supporting Actor Award for his acting debut in the Middle School Play “Back to the 80’s.”
Tyler was an incredibly gifted young man with quick wit and comedic humor. People were drawn to Tyler because he always made them feel good about themselves. His insatiable appetite for history, coupled with his impressive speaking abilities, make this an even greater tragedy for such a promising young man.
Tyler is survived by his parents, David and Ashley Williams, and sister Spencer Catherine Williams, of the home. Also surviving are maternal grandparents Roy and Carol Blackwelder of High Point; paternal grandparents Dr. Jabez and Helen Williams of Thomasville; aunt, Miriam Fields and uncle Craig Fields of Greensboro; uncle Blake Williams of Thomasville; uncle Don Barbour of Greensboro; and cousins Connor and Audrey Fields of Greensboro.
Tyler’s gift of life will truly go on as he was an organ donor.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tyler Williams Memorial Fund and sent to The Worth Law Firm, 301 S Greene St, Ste 300, Greensboro, NC 27401.
