

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 5 at Gethsemane United Methodist Church with The Reverend Ken Lyon officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
Mr. Bowman was a member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church and Sunday School class. He served on the Board of Trustees and as the superintendant of Sunday School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. Mr. Bowman owned and operated Oakmere Farm. He was a member of the Northeast Civitans, the V.F.W., the Guilford Soil and Water Conservation and the Dairy Herd Improvement Association. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Vera Bowman and two brothers, Richard Bowman and Clay Bowman.
Mr. Bowman is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janie M. Bowman, daughter, Sue Robbins and husband, Willis of Lexington, sons, Donald Bowman and wife, Kay, Kelly Bowman and wife, Betty all of Browns Summit, sisters, Carolyn Adams and husband, Calvin of Browns Summit, Frances Pearson and husband, Bill of Greensboro, Betty Rumley of Browns Summit, Mae Duggins and husband, Roger of Kernersville, grandchildren; Lorie Loman, Lynette Anderson, Matt Bowman, Amy Jumpe, Neal Bowman, and Katie Bowman and 5 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gethsemane United Methodist Church, 100 NC Hwy 150 W., Greensboro, NC 27455 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm St.
