Mrs. Virginia (Ginny) Frederick was called home to be with our Lord and Savior and reunite with husband, family, and friends on May 25, 2024. Ginny began dealing with dementia in the past couple years which ultimately led to several falls and diminished mobility. Ginny required the services of an assisted living facility in recent months. She remained cheerful in spite of severe short term memory issues but could recite the 23rd Psalm and the Lord’s Prayer with minimal prompting. Ginny often joined in singing the words to her favorite Gospel hymns. She remained inquisitive about local and national events up until the last few months.
The family will receive friends at Christ Wesleyan Church, 2400 S. Holden Road, Greensboro, NC on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 12:00-1:45 pm followed by a “Celebration of Life” Service at 2:00 pm, where “Ginny” served faithfully for many years in the Basha Steed Ministry, on the local administrative board, taught the Naomi Bible Class, and was a member of the sanctuary choir for many years.
Ginny enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking (best banana pudding ever), piano, and puzzles of all kinds. She was a proficient computer user and addressed cards, letter, and envelopes on her computer printer, often with graphics, well into her 90’s.
Interment will follow the service at Westminster Gardens, 3601 Whitehurst Road. Ginny requested that her home going service be a “Celebration of Life” with singing, praise to the Lord, and encouragement for the loved ones left behind with the knowledge that we will see her again through the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord.
