Mrs. Vivian Dawn Massey Manning

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2013 at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home N. Elm Chapel with The Reverend Ray Calhoun and The Reverend Nila Souther officiating. Interment will follow at Westminster Gardens.

Vivian was the daughter of The Reverend R.R. Massey and Irby Lee Massey. She was a member of Community Chapel Baptist Church and former organist, pianist for over 30 years, Sunday School Teacher, and director of The Triple C. Chorale. She was the corporate secretary of Hickory Throwing Company for 20 years. When it was sold in 1979, Foil Investment Corporation was formed and she became office manager and accountant for 17 additional years. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Shelton Manning, their daughter, Victoria Manning Anglin, a granddaughter, Donna Anglin and a brother, David Massey.

Vivian is survived by her son, Daryl Manning and wife, Joan of Fairfax, Virginia, grandchildren; Lynn, Billy, Timmy, Julie, Michelle, Brian, and Sarah and great-grandchildren; Brandon, Alex, Megan and Anthony.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Chapel Baptist Church, 3501 Ravendale Dr., Greensboro, NC 27406 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Community Chapel Baptist Church and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
