Wanda Leonard Hunt

Wanda Leonard Hunt, 87, a resident of Asheboro and a former resident of Greensboro passed away at home on Friday August 16, 2024. She was born May 2, 1937 in Middlesboro, Kentucky the daughter of Robert “Bobby” Arie and Cleo Parrot Fultz Leoard.

Wanda worked at Dunning Industries and later with Hooker Furniture Co.

Wanda was married to Furmon Hunt who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Ronda Hunt Penn; two sons, Bobby Hunt, Kim Hunt; her sister, Mairlyn Hunt Clark and her brother, Ken Leonard.

She is survived by two sons, Vernon Ray Hunt and his wife Elizabeth of Asheboro, Furmon Daniel Hunt of Greensboro; 12 grandchildren, Brain Hunt, Angel Hunt, Keish Hunt, Derick Hunt, Wanet Hunt, Shawn Penn, Tiffany Hunt, Malia Hunt, Melissa Huggins, Kimberly Hunt, Jade and Daniel Wesley Hunt.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday August 20, 2024 at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by Pastor Gerald Locklear. Interment will follow at Westminster Gardens Cemetery in Greensboro. The family will receive friends at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel on Monday evening August 19, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
