Wesley “Slim” Lee Phillips, 77, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Moses Cone Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greensboro. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday evening, January 2, 2019, at the funeral home. Born on September 1, 1941 in Greensboro, to the late Bernice Byrd, mother. “Slim” retired as a long and short haul Truck Driver. He enjoyed wood working, refinishing and repairing furniture. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Charles Grady Phillips. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 38 years, Christine Phillips; children, Paul “Jr.” Phillips and wife Angie, Mildred Redeker and wife Kim, Teresa Tingler and husband Danny, and Dianna Brandl and boyfriend Scott; 13 grandchildren, Christine D, Kristina, Christine T, Brittany, Angela, Wayne, Alec, D.J., Thomas “Bubba”, Cameron, Clayton, Savannah, and Courtney; 8 great-grandchildren, Arianna, Noah, Aliyah, Payton, Bailey, Timothy, Barrett, and Zepera; brothers-in-law, David and Jerry, best friend, “Gator”; and other extended family.
