First and foremost, Billy was a loving and devoted father.
He was also a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, dog owner, mentor and great friend to many, all of whom were extremely important to him.
Growing up, Billy was the protector, champion and hero of his younger brothers and cousins. An avid fan of Duke, the Carolina Panthers and the Dallas Cowboys, Billy graduated from Northeast Guilford High School in 1990, where he was a popular player on their Varsity football and wrestling teams. He also attended Guilford Technical Community College, where he received an Associate Degree in Criminology. Like his father and grandfather before him, Billy was drawn to a facet of law enforcement and for many years, worked with troubled teens at a local juvenile center.
Billy loved spending time with his kids and pet, family and friends, going to the shooting range, the beach, photography, documentaries, movies, sports, music, his childhood toy collections, America, and his Mom’s cooking.
Billy will be most remembered for his herculean stature & personality, lovable quality, protective nature, incredible sense of humor, and uncanny ability to make everyone smile and laugh. He will be truly missed and was loved by all who knew him.
