Mr. William Antonio Elder

William Antonio Elder, 45, of Greensboro passed away May 10, 2010 at Moses Cone Hospital. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 High point Road, Greensboro with interment to follow at Guilford Memorial Park, Greensboro. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna G. Elder; his paternal and maternal grandparents; and his nephew, Brian K. Caudill. His immediate survivors are his wife, Connie Hamm Elder of the home; father, Ronald Elder; daughter, Charity Ksor and husband Tri; Stepson, Daniel Felde and wife Tammy; Stepdaughters, Janelle Garner and husband Ricky; Angie Nichols and husband Shawn; a special grandson who he raised from birth, Stephen Felde; sister, Dawna Perdue and husband Dickie; brother, Chuck Jermont and wife Dawn of Ohio; several aunts and uncles of Clarksburg, West Virginia and Fayetteville, North Carolina; many brothers and sisters in-law; nieces and nephews; and his black lab of 13 years, Callie. His greatest passion was his grandchildren, a few who either never missed a day or a weekend with him in his failing years. He loved being Papa Bill. Grandchildren are Aedan Ksor; Max Eban; Courtney Garner; Alyciia Hoke; Amber Felde; Cody Felde; Jesse Felde; and Amber Tate. A special thanks to his stepdaughter Angie Nichols who helped care 24/7 in his final year of life, and also to Dr. Gerald Plovsky of Triad Psychiatric Center, and Ali Cosgrove of ICU 2300 at Moses Cone Hospital. He worked for Carolina Steel of Colfax for 15 years as a welder then as a supervisor for the last 7 years until his illness in 2002. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Triad Psychiatric Center or the American Cancer Society. Friends may visit on Wednesday, April 12, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Following the interment, the family will be gathering at the Clubhouse on Country Club Lane and Woodlake Mobile Home Park on East Sheraton Park Road, Greensboro.
