

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, October 26, 2013, at St. Paul Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Jay Lambeth officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
Born in Landis, NC on June 3, 1931, to the late Theo and Mary Walker. Earney was a member of St. Paul Presbyterian Church 53 years and also served as an Elder. He retired as a Captain with the Greensboro Police Department after 30 years of service. Earney was a member of the Corinthian Masonic Lodge #542. He was very much a people person who never met a stranger. After retirement he was the owner and operator of Greensboro Pawn Shop for ten years. He enjoyed going to Auctions and Yard Sales, but his greatest passion was spending time with his adoring family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 61 years, Jan Austin Walker of the home; daughter, Sherry Walker Farmer and her husband Gurney of Jamestown; sons, William Earney Walker, Jr. and his wife Jeanne of Greensboro and Paul Nathan Walker and his wife Janet of Jamestown; sister, Geraldine Brown of High Point; three grandchildren, Holly Noel Walker, Candice Nicole Walker, and Lauren Danielle Walker; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 8:00 pm Friday evening October 25, 2013 at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel.
