Brown Summit-Mr. William “Bill” Ray Wyrick, 71, passed away on October 16, 2018 at Beacon Place surrounded by his family. Now he is fully restored after his valiant battle with cancer for over two years. A service to celebrate his life will be at 1 PM, Friday, October 19 at Lakeview Memorial Park mausoleum.
He was born in Guilford County to the late Ulys S. and Audrey Lovelace Wyrick. He had an enduring faith in Jesus Christ and worshipped at Brown Summit Baptist Church. “Wild Bill”, as he was affectionately known, was an ardent fan of dirt track and NASCAR racing and collector of various items which he found while perusing at auctions, flea markets and yard sales. He loved to piddle with everything and could repair anything. Bill was a jokester but also a man with a solid set of core values and principles.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sarah Caviness Wyrick of the home; children, David (Kasey) Wyrick of Eden and Donna Cantliffe of Greensboro; step children, Terry Hutchens and Angela Lanier both of Whitsett; adopted daughter, Lynn (Bobby) Warren of Brown Summit; brother, Eddie (Gerry) Wyrick of Reidsville and sister, Vivian Davis of Brown Summit. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
