Mr. Willie Robert "Bill" Jenkins

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home 318 East Main St. in Chesterfield, SC 29709. Burial will follow at Fairview Baptist Church in Mount Crogan, SC.

Born January 1, 1930, to the late Rob and Maggie Jenkins, Bill was of the Baptist faith. He retired from Guilford Mills after many years of employment. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved to garden. The produce he grew was shared generously with family, friends, and neighbors and the rest was sold. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents Bill was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Jenkins and two brothers, Lonnie and Curtis.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 63 years, Frances G. Jenkins of the home; daughter, Becky Lee and husband Ed of Reidsville; sons, Roger D. Jenkins and wife Darlene of Greensboro and Richard B. Jenkins and wife Debbie of Lexington; brother, Grady Jenkins and wife Eloise of Chesterfield, SC; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 3 great great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Friday, August 20, 2010 at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel in Greensboro and other times at his home. The family will receive friends in Chesterfield, SC at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 1 until 2 pm.
