Mrs. Winifred Irene Land Wrenn, 93, a resident of Greensboro passed away on Sunday November 12, 2017 at Clapp’s Nursing Home in Pleasant Garden. Winifred was born March 10, 1924 in Guilford County, the daughter of William Thurman and Elizabeth Smitherman Land.
She was a member of Friendly Ave. Baptist Church and faithfully attended until her health began to fail.
She was married to William “Warren” Wrenn who preceded her in death in 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mary Land Baity and one brother, Woodrow Land.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia W. Yates of Asheboro; one son, Larry Wrenn of Greensboro; one brother, Jack Land of Clemmons; four grandchildren, Debbie Shaw, Chuck Yates, Matthew Yates, Eric Wrenn and six great grandchildren, Stephanie and Charles Shaw, Tyler, Riley, Hayden and Landon Yates.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at Guilford Memorial Park conducted by the Reverend Steve King. The family will receive friends at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
