Anna M. Thompson Schwering

Anna Marie Schwering, 82 Greensburg, IN. passed away Saturday March 16, 2013 at Aspen Place in Greensburg. She was born February 17, 1931 in Indianapolis, IN., the daughter of Blaine A. and Theresa J. (Brady) Thompson. She was a 1949 graduate of Clarksburg High School and received her Nursing Degree from St. John’s School of Nursing in 1952. She worked at Decatur County Memorial Hospital for 2 and half years before raising a family then worked at Lincoln Nursing Home and the Odd Fellows Home for 10 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Lawrence Auxiliary, and enjoyed Sewing, and Ceramics. She married Donald A. Schwering , January 6, 1955 in Greensburg, IN. and he preceded her in death on January 14, 2010.

She is survived by five Daughters: Cynthia (Richard) Nelson-Schlarb of Greensburg,; Carolyn (Greg) Roszell of Westport,; Jennifer (Jeff) Friend of Westport,; Monica (Jan) Gunter of Batesville,; and Rebecca (Brian) Wagenblast of Ontario, Canada.; four Sons: John (Vicki) Schwering of Greensburg,; Joseph (Karen) Schwering of Osgood,; Benjamin, and Robert Schwering both of Greensburg. Thirty-five Grandchildren and nine Great Grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two daughters: Kimberly Schwering, and Catherine Sherman; three Brothers: Arthur, Harold, and Bernard Thompson; one Sister: Mary Pelkey.

Friends may call at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Monday March 18, 2013 from 4:00 until 8:00pm with a Rosary being recited at 3:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday March 19, 2013 at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
