Carolyn S. Collins

Carolyn S. Collins, age 78, of Greensburg, passed away on Tuesday October 9, 2018. Carolyn was born June 7, 1940 in Greensburg to Gladys (Buell) McGregor and Joe Simmons. After Carolyn’s father passed away, her mother married Archie “Bud” McGregor and he served as her father for many years. Carolyn was a member of the Bethel Apostolic Church where she also helped with Sunday School. She worked for many years as a waitress at Trackside and Stories restaurants. She later worked at Gecom until her retirement. While retired she became a Foster Grandparent within the Greensburg Elementary School for several years. She enjoyed writing poems and doing crafts. Carolyn is survived by her son Don Snyder of Greensburg; daughter-in-law Melody Snyder of Greensburg; step daughters Peg Collins and Pam Collins; granddaughters - Nikki (Fred) Eddelman and Rhiannon (Frankie) Santana; and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Sonny Lee Snyder; her brother Ernest Simmons; her sister Wanda Merfeld-Martin; and one grandson Justin Lee Snyder. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 10AM until the start of the funeral service at 12PM with Rev. Todd Smith officiating. Burial will be held at South Park Cemetery on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 10AM. Memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice.
