

Cora Marie Crawley, 87 of Greensburg, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the Aspen Place Health Campus. Cora was born on April 17, 1926 in Decatur County, the daughter of Gilbert and Opal McCullough-Heaton. Cora was a 1944 graduate of Burney High School. She married Melvin Vollney Crawley in Carthage on April 16, 1946 and he preceded her in death on October 7, 1973.
Cora worked at the Racine Shirt Company and the TG & Y of Greensburg for 14 years, until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of the Homemakers Club in Decatur & Shelby Counties.
Survivors include her Son Melvin Crawley of Columbus, her Daughter Mary Jane (Richard) Kunz of Greensburg; Five Grandchildren – Jennifer (Matt) Shell of Goshen, Angela Garriott of Lafayette, Camron Crawley of Columbus, Cadie (Kip) Werden of Franklin and Michael (Marci) Kunz of Greensburg; and Eight Great Grandchildren – Gabrielle Marie & Madelyn Garriott, Elijah & Lidea Shell, Gracie & Karlie Werden, and Ella Cora & Mason Kunz. She was also preceded in death by her parents on December 1 and 8 in 1979.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, December 9, 2013 from 4PM-8PM at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Cora’s funeral service will begin at 10AM on Tuesday, December 10 also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
