Obituary of Dale R. Lowe
Dale Richard Lowe, 71, of Greensburg passed away on October 21, 2014. He was born on August 20, 1943 in Decatur County, Indiana to Floyd and Elizabeth Lowe. Dale was a 1961 graduate of Clarksburg High School and a 1966 Purdue University graduate. After college, Dale enlisted in the United States Army during the Korean War where he served for 13 months as he held the rank of 1st Lieutenant. On November 8, 1969 Dale was married to Brenda Lou Ferguson. They resided in Greensburg, raising their six children. Dale remained active in the family farm as co-owner of Lowe’s Pellets & Grain for 35 years and co-owner and manager of Lowe’s Tractor and Equipment for 20 years before he retired in 2001. Dale always had a passion for tractors, sports and his family. In his earlier years, Dale was a past President of the Decatur County Tractor Pulling Association, past President of the Hoosier State Tractor Pullers Association and a long-time member. He was a member of First Baptist Church, John Purdue Club, Decatur County 4-H, and was a Hoosier State Pro Stock and Super Stock Points Champion. When not serving on a board or committee, Dale was traveling to back his favorite athletes, his grandchildren, the Purdue Boilermakers or the Greensburg Pirates Dale is survived by; Wife – Brenda Lowe; Children – Mark (Dawn) Lowe, Melissa (John) Nagle, Matthew Lowe, Michael (Jamie) Lowe, Marcia Ramer and Maegan (Mark) Williams; Grandchildren – Kae-Lynn Lowe, Kenedee Lowe, Klein Lowe, Kirkley Lowe, Adrianna Nagle, Laura Nagle, Katherine [Katie] Nagle, Dakota Cody, Cheyenne Cody-Mass, Mariah Lowe, Jacob Ramer, Justin Ramer, Zackery Williams and Bristol Williams; Brother – David (Patsi) Lowe; Sister – Doris Maines; Sister-in-Law – Regina Lowe; Mother-in-Law – Katherine Ferguson and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Elizabeth Lowe and his brother, Don Lowe. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland Howe Funeral Home on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church, Greensburg on Friday, October, 24, 2014 at 11:00 am with Rev. Cliff Bunch officiating.
